We will be holding our whole school swimming carnival on Monday 4 March.

Term 1 2019

The first day for all new students for 2019 is on Monday 4 February 2019.

The first day for Term 1 for all current returning students  is Tuesday 5 February 2019.

On both days students are to go straight to the school hall at 8:40am for an assembly.

Parent / Teacher Interviews for Term 3 2018 will be held on Thursday 20 September from 3:30pm - 7:00pm.

Parents are able to book interviews online using PTO

PTO (Parent Teacher Online) Booking System is now active. Parents will receive their PTO Login in the mail with their childs report. Parents may then go online and book Parent/Teacher Interviews. If you have any difficulty please phone the school reception on 6142 0800 for assistance.

Open Night and Enrolments for 2019

Canberra High School will hold an Open Night on Thursday May 24 2018 starting at 6pm in the school Hall and finishing at 8pm. All faculties will be open and staff will be available to answer questions. All family members are welcome.

Year 6 prospective students are invited to come to an Open Morning on the 22, 23 or 24 May. Bookings for Open Mornings are essential. Please phone 6142 0804.

The initial enrolment application consideration period for Year 7 2019 is available from 9am Monday 30 April 2018.

Student Chromebooks

To participate in the 'Better Schools for our Kids - Technology Enabled Learning Initiative' Chromebooks for students, -  families are required to read through the Chromebook Acceptance Form, sign and return the form to school.

Chromebooks will be delivered and given out to students early in first term 2018. There is a section to opt out of the Chromebook Initiative if you do not wish to participate

Year 10 students are to return their forms to their current High Schools - these students will receive their Chromebooks in 2018 at the college they will be attending.

All Forms are to be returned ASAP Failure to return the signed form will mean students are NOT eligible to receive a Chromebook.

ACT Government Announcement

On Friday 8 September, Minister Yvette Berry announced that the ‘ACT Government has taken an important step towards delivering one of its major education commitments – free electronic devices for all ACT public high school and college students.’ The devices will be chromebooks which are compatible with our Google platform. Further advice will be provided to schools and parents in coming weeks on the exact timing for the delivery of these devices.

Year 9 Exhibitions 2017

Monday 11 September through till Friday 15 September

Year 9 students at Canberra High School are participating in the Exhibitions Program reflecting on the question, ‘How have I demonstrated growth as a learner at Canberra High School?’ They will prepare a portfolio of their work undertaken this calendar year and present it to a panel in a roundtable format reflecting on their growth as a learner.

'Think U Know' - Cyber Safety Session for parents will be held in the school library from 6pm-8pm.

This is a very helpful and informative session for parents of teenagers. Tea and coffee will be available.

Year 7 Camp 2017

The Year 7 camp to Jindabyne Sports and Recreation Centre is from Wednesday 15 February until Friday 17 February.

Students arrive at school by 8:40am on Wednesday 15 February and assemble in the school hall. Buses will leave approx. 9.30am.Students will return approximately 3.30pm Friday 17 February.
